Weekend Review

It was another exciting weekend here in Provo. Let's see... Friday we went to Costco, which is always an adventure! We got lots of good food and even saw a couple of guys from our ward, Marc and Gordy, and ended up eating dinner with them. I guess Costco is the place to be on Friday nights.

Hmm goldfish :)

Look at all the healthy food. Muffins, goldfish, bagels. All the makings of a nutritious and balanced diet.

I spent all of Saturday morning, well an hour anyways, making some delicious chicken salad! I think it turned out quite well, especially for my first attempt.

A work in progress

The delicious result!

Let's see, then Saturday afternoon I went to my cousin's wife's baby shower. That was fun. Saturday night after I got back we had a little excitement in our apartment. Our toilet overflowed. I am mortified to admit that I'm the one who did it, but I swear I only peed! That is the second time that has happened in our apartment. Luckily I have the sweetest roommate ever! Brooke helped me clean up all the nasty toilet water. To make the evening even more exciting Amy had boys over when it happened. Brooke and I were trying to be nonchalant as we took turns getting cleaning stuff from the front closet in the living room. Didn't work so well... Haha. Kinda embarrassing but oh well.

Sunday was a relaxing day. The weather was so nice! It was so warm! Well, warm for Utah in February. We went on a roommate walk and talked and looked at some of the "historic" houses south of our apartment. I'm not sure how historic some of them are considering one was from the 70s but there are some really cute houses. Then Sunday night we had game night at our apartment! It was a ton of fun. We had a different group then usual so it was nice to get to know some other people.

Well, now I am studying my bum of for my Anatomy lab midterm tomorrow. Wish me luck!

25 Random Things About ME!

25 Random Things About Yours Truly!

1. I have a lot of irrational fears. Including... getting shot at a gas station, dead bodies in lakes, and have a bunk bed fall on me and squish me. I could fill this whole list with things I'm afraid of but that would be boring.

2. I have the tendency to fall too hard, too fast for guys. My missionary's mom thinks I am going to marry the next guy I date- I intend to prove her wrong.

3. I adore my missionary. I have written him every week since he left. Last week I even wrote him two letters.

4. I am obsessed with the 1940s. The history, the fashion, everything. If I could live in any other time it would be the 40s.

5. I am usually pretty content to just stay home and watch a movie. Kinda boring, but oh well.

6. I LOVE my family! And I miss them soooo much when I'm away from home.

7. The only seasoning I really need is garlic salt.

8. I love traditions and I don't like change. It makes me feel anxious and sick to my stomach.

9. I'm scared of heights but I LOVE roller coasters.

10. (My favorite number) I like to listen to music before I go to sleep. Sometimes I fall asleep with my headphones in, I'm lucky they haven't strangled me in my sleep yet.

11. I watch way too much TV. My favorite show is The Office. And I recently got hooked on One Tree Hill and Chuck.

12. I love school. I love going to classes, studying, and taking tests, even though it can be really stressful. My favorite class right now is probably anatomy.

13. I'm pretty sure it is physically impossible for me to fall asleep on my back. I can lie on my back for hours and not fall asleep, although I haven't had the patience to try this all night.

14. I'm going on study abroad to London next semester and I am beyond excited! Living in London for 4 months is pretty much a dream come true!

15. I have a scar by my right eye from falling down the stairs when I was 2.

16. I think that the shaped Reese's taste better than the regular ones.

17. I am OCD about being clean. I have to take a shower and wash my hair everyday or I feel gross and can't handle it.

18. I really like to pee in the shower at the pool.

19. I miss freshman year.

20. I really like my hair and I am proud that I have never dyed it. It also bugs me when people who aren't really blonde say they are. It's a pride issue.

21. I love drinking water and I don't drink soda.

22. After watching movies like the Italian Job and Oceans 11 I always want to be a con woman. But I'm sure it is a lot scarier and less glamorous than they make it look in the movies.

23. Swimming is the only form of exercise I really enjoy.

24. I buy a new pair of underwear almost every time I go to Target. They have cute underwear. Luckily we don't go too often.

25. I love falling asleep to the sound of rain. I think this is from living in Portland, Oregon for awhile. I also love love love thunderstorms!

Random side note: Today is Brian's birthday! I mention this mostly because I want to show off the banner I made him.

Happy Birthday Brian!

Because We Didn't Want to Study...

This is what Becca and I did all night because we didn't want to study..

We made a list of names for our future children. Possible last names included. We spent a good hour on this.

We know we're weird. We have learned to embrace it.

We also watched The Notebook. We have probably watched this movie about 50 times this year. It's a favorite at our apartment.

I like my blue toe nail polish.

:)

Basically I have the best missionary ever. There may be a lot of girls out there who think the same thing, but they would be wrong. Because look what I got in the mail today!

He made the pop-up one all by himself! To be perfectly honest I had no idea he was that creative... or creative at all. Haha. I guess I was wrong.
It definitely put a smile on my face :)

Oh the Joys of a Long Weekend

BYU never gives us a day off, so on those rare occasions that they do it is a cause for celebration! We had a 3 day weekend this past weekend. We had all these big plans for going to St. George of Vegas but we ended up chilling in Provo being really lazy.
Saturday was a pretty fun day, considering we had an apartment full of unattached girls on Valentines Day. Our plan was to indulge ourselves in junk food and super-sappy chick flicks, but come 3 in the afternoon I got an unexpected call from a boy in my ward asking if I wanted to "hang out" that night. It was actually a very fun night. We went to stake conference (haha), then we went to a place called YoZone for frozen yogurt, then we went sledding at Rock Canyon. Sledding was a ton of fun! We had a ton of fun going down the hill, over jumps, and doing sledding trains. I am still sore from it! Probably from when Nate (who is 6'5") nailed me going down the hill. And probably from when Brooke and I flipped off the tube and landed on our heads/shoulder. I'm actually probably lucky I didn't get a concussion, we saw this girl in another group who had a concussion, she was pretty loopy. After sledding we made our way back to our apartment to thaw out and drink some hot chocolate. It was a lot of fun.
Then Sunday we didn't have church until 2 because it was stake conference! We got a new stake president who just happens to be President Monson's son. He is so funny! Probably the funniest thing from all of stake conference was during his talk he was taking to the RMs and he said "I know you guys have the hormones, you just need the faith to get a wife!" So funny. Then we spent a very lazy evening at our apartment.
Monday was the long awaited day off. We celebrated by sleeping in and going to the movies with some girls in our ward. We saw Confessions of a Shopaholic. It was pretty cute, honestly not as good as I thought it would be. But it was still fun.
So that pretty much sums up our long weekend. Not terribly exciting, but we had fun. Unfortunately that is our last break until the end of the semester! Ah!

Favorite Quote from stake conference: "Even monkeys fall out of trees."

I wish I had pictures but I'm not very good about taking pictures. I'll have to work on that too!

My New Blog!

So I'm starting a blog! I just got accepted to London Study Abroad for Fall 2009 and I wanted a way for my family to see what I'm up to! Obviously that's a ways off but I was too excited to wait. So here it is!

I'm also really bad about keeping a journal so I'm hoping this will motivate me to write about my life.
